The part -time MBA offered by the Polytechnic University of Hong Kong (Polyu) is designed to be of a generalist nature and, as such, candidates tend to fall into two main categories.
Until now, some have specialized – perhaps in IT, finance or engineering – but have reached a point of their career where, to move forward, they need full know -how to manage a service or an autonomous operation.
Others may already have management experience, but want to extend their horizons and continue to increase. Consequently, they see the value of a qualification that develops leaders with skills, insight and pragmatism to deal with new problems and the evolution of demands.
“We find a good balance between academic and practical aspects,” explains Pamsy Hui, director of the MBA program and main education stock market for the Polyu Management and Marketing Department. “The objective is to raise awareness among professionals and global problems and local concerns, to ensure that they understand what people are talking about in the conference room and to let them make informed decisions.”

To this end, the program begins with a number of main subjects which include accounting, commercial analysis, global economy, financial management, ethics and organizational behavior and leadership, etc.
