The army trains veterans, the staff of commercial skills – the Whistler newspaper

The Nigerian army has concluded a training program for commercial skills for its veterans and its staff near retirement in the state of Rivers.

The training, held in Port Harcourt, aimed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in post-retirement life.

The theme of the training “draws by drawing commercial development strategies for the effective empowerment of service staff and veterans in post-retirement life”, is supposed to be part of the efforts of the Nigerian army to allow its veterans and retirement staff by providing them with commercial skills and knowledge aimed at allowing them to transform into civil life and contributing to the economic development of the country.

In his closing remarks, Major-General Lawrence Fejokwu, head of the administration, army, represented by General de General Uriah Opuene, urged participants to apply the knowledge acquired during training in their personal development and the country's growth.

He expressed his confidence that the programs' objectives had been achieved.

“I have no doubt in my mind that the objectives of the pre-retirement training and commercial development strategy for the retirement of staff and members have been achieved. I think we all have better prospects now on deliberate issues.

“I firmly believe that capacity building is supported by knowledge throughout the seminar period and a fundamental understanding of this training; Our staff, including veterans, has a better chance of being more effective for preparation and leading a more successful and more productive post-retirement life, “he said.

For his part, Director Reserve, headquarters of the army in the Department of Administration, Brig Gen Eddie Effiong, said that there is no doubt that the conference has expanded the knowledge of the participants on the way to manage more successfully and in a productive manner their post-retirement life.

Earlier in his conference entitled “Business development”, Brig Gen Muraina Raji (RTD) underlined the need for general knowledge, dedication and identification of a field of force in the management of a prosperous business. He mentioned that good market studies, strategic skills, marketing skills and funding are some of the keys to managing a prosperous commercial enterprise.

In addition, speaking on the subject “Managing a prosperous company”, Major Gen Emmanuel Whyte (RTD) identified the current errors that people make in business to include who use, the absence / lack of adequate surveillance of the company, the lack of reference, the lack of clear demarcation of finances, among others.

He added that location, financing and culture are also important aspects to be considered during the establishment of a business to succeed.

During the technical session, the participants who spoke welcomed the army for training and called for sustainability for the benefit of more staff.

The highest point of training was the presentation of certificates to participants.
