New Jersey's law law Requires that the new members of the school board and the school administrators in Charter are undergoing training within 90 days of the start of the functions. Please note that if you were previously a member of the Board of Directors and you have had a break of three years or more, you must finish governance again, and the same 90 -day regulation applies.
The members of the board of directors of the second and third years of a first mandate, and during the first year of a reelected or renowned mandate, he must also undergo compulsory training. The NJSBA is the mandated training supplier designated by the State, which is available free of charge for members.
The New Jersey School Boards Association offers its members many formats to meet this requirement, including live virtual training, online courses at your own pace and training in person. *.

Governance I: First year of training in the first quarter – New orientation training for members of the Board of Directors
* New orientation weekend of the members of the board of directors
This on -site on -site training course at three days teaches the new members of the board of directors to effectively pay their responsibilities while attending large and small groups on subjects, in particular school law, policy, the law on school ethics, the means to improve students' performance, school funding, labor relations, the relationship of the board of directors and the advocacy.
Limit of 2 members per district for the training of the weekend.
Registration for compulsory training can only be completed by your school business administrator. Please contact your district office to be saved.
All participants will need a district email and must already be added to the census (with a start date of 1/1/24)

This program will be offered In person at the NJSBA headquarters in Trenton. This free opportunity will not only allow you to fulfill your compulsory training requirements, but to share knowledge and connect with the heads of the same objectives. Throughout the year, NJSBA staff will present information that new members of the board of directors need their responsibilities effectively. This format allows a time for questions and answers. The sessions of members of the live virtual committee are planned in three consecutive live sessions, each lasting approximately two hours.
Members must attend the three session dates * live * to meet governance requirements and receive the ACADEMY credit from the members of the board of directors.
