Last Friday of each month, I organized some of the observations and ideas shared on social networks. I call it Friday finds.
“Capitalism is what is happening when you believe that glorified fishmongers should trace the course of humanity.” –@Aral
“11 years ago, I found this funny:” How many Microsoft designers do you need to change a bulb? ” None. They simply define darkness as “industry standard”. But now I cannot not see this: `How many companies cause to repair the climate? –@Helenczerski
“It is easy to offer a solution if you only understand 10% of the problem” –@tef

Do minds have immune systems? via @Shauncoffey
We believe that cognitive immunology has a brilliant future. Imagine that our understanding of the immune system of the mind develops until it competes with our understanding of the body's immune system. Imagine how our treatments for disinformation sensitivity could become better. (Think of treatments such as taking the form of a higher level of critical thinking for the arranged inoculation and not forced to want.) Imagine how much the mass irrationality epidemics could become rarer. What if we could reduce toxic polarization by 35%? Or make everyone 15% less sensitive to ideological fixation? What if we could make the delusions angry and hateful rare? Imagine the appreciation of the worst infodemicals of the way in which we tamed the worst epidemics: by patiently building the immunity of the herd to the most nasty infectious agents.
To the student body of Germany:
The story has not taught you anything if you think you can kill ideas. Tyrans have tried to do it often before, and ideas have increased in their power and destroyed them.
You can burn my books and the books of the best spirits in Europe, but the ideas infiltrated there through a million channels and will continue to turn other minds. I gave all the royalties of my books forever to the German soldiers blinded in the World War without any thought in my heart but love and compassion for the German people.
I recognize the serious complications that have led to your intolerance; Especially since I deplore the injustice and the evil to transmit to the generations to be born the stigma of your actions.
Do not imagine that your barbarities with the Jews are unknown here. God does not sleep, and he will return his judgment to you. Better to have a wetting stone hanging around your neck and sunk in the sea than being hated and despised by all men. —Hen Keller
Back to the essentials – Cycle helmets
To review all of this, cycle helmets do not offer any protection designed against accidents involving another vehicle. Although it can offer your head a certain protection against being cut by glass, this degree of protection would be almost unimportant compared to the massive impact force caused by the shot by a car.
Cycle helmets offer a slight absorption of the impact, but not enough to prevent concussion or indeed coma. In addition, polystyrene – which cycle helmets are manufactured – is evaluated at 3.4 GPA, while human skull exceeds 5 GPA. It is a huge difference, and simply means that your skull is much more difficult than your cycle helmet.
…
However, whatever you decide to do, now that you know that cycle helmets really only protect pastries and scratches, and precious little, please, you will stop with the “my companion crushed his bike and broke his helmet. If it was not for his helmet, his skull would have been broken ”, because they are simply not true.
OPENAI O3 consumes five gas tanks per task
Openai has recently unveiled O3, its most powerful AI model to date. In addition to the cost to manage models, its environmental impact is another aspect that attracts attention.
A study reveals that each O3 task consumes approximately 1,785 kWh of energy, equivalent to the electricity used by an average American household over two months.
The analysis of the reference results carried out by Boris Gamazaychikov, the lead in the sustainability of the AI in Salesforce, says that it translates roughly 684 kilograms of equivalent CO₂ emissions (CO₂E), which is comparable to carbon emissions of more than five complete fuel tanks.
The owner's game: Lizzie Magic and Anti -Capitalist Origins of Monopoly (1903) (1903)
There are few more blatant creative and intellectual flight cases than the origins of the total monopoly of a billion dollars. The short version: a brilliant woman economist invented an anti -capitalist board game stolen by a lying and opportunistic and reconditioned man as a capitalist family pleasure.
