Applications are now open for 2025 Career training program in student energy. The energy training program (SECT) strengthens leadership skills and employability through energy education, project management training, individualized career coaching and interdisciplinary collaboration thanks to experiential learning opportunities with the main energy companies.

Cohort 6 of the SEC program is thematic “Women in Energy Africa” ​​and will be exclusively for young women from 18 to 30 years old in Africa interested in developing their career in the energy sector.

The eligibility application to the vocational training program is Open to women in Africa aged 18 to 30 who wish to work in the sustainable energy sector. The program is entirely online and delivered in English.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Very maximum English language: Are you fluent in English and at ease to communicate with global peers, sectors and industry partners in English?
  • Education: Have you finished or are you currently registered with a post-secondary certificate, a diploma or a diploma program any discipline?
  • Reliable internet access: Do you have reliable internet access to participate in virtual sessions, take online lessons and collaborate with peers?
  • Nationality and location: Do you have an African nationality And Currently live in an African country?

Calendar

The program will take place from July 2025 to February 2026 with an average commitment of 10 hours per week for 30 weeks (about 300 hours in total).

Mid-July in mid-August: course

This includes participation in the launching webinar, the completion of the general program on the learning center with a total of 6 learning units and 1 assignment, and attend all the introductory coaching calls with your coach and project team assigned (~ 4 hours per week for meetings and study work).

Mid-August to mid-December: Project for active participation and internship

This includes participation in two compulsory meetings each week. One meeting will be with your assigned project partner, while the other is with your project team. The Pratcicum project will take place in mid-August in mid-December, which includes the delivery of a final presentation and the realization of the deliverables of the project allocated. During this period, you will have to complete the studies of studies specializing in the learning center with a total of 6 learning units (~ 10 hours per week to accomplish the tasks allocated by project partners and 2 hours for meetings).

At the beginning of January to early February: career development and coaching

This includes the completion of five learning units in career development development, professional development webinars and individual individual career coaching sessions (~ 4 hours per week for the development of career acquisition skills, career coaching 1: 1, webinars and mixing events).
