People will have to start acquiring new skills

Henderson, Ky. (Weht) – A new Ivy Tech Community College report estimates that more than 82,000 adults who work will have to be “overturned” or “taken up” to meet the evolution of the workforce in Indiana in the next decade.

The report focused on the main industrial sectors of the State such as Advanced Manufacturing, Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, Healthcare and Technology. Ivy Tech says that 69% of positions in these sectors will require non -degree references such as certifications, certificates, licenses and other short -term training programs recognized by industry.

The president of Ivy Tech, Sue Ellspermann, said that research shows that the urgent need of Hoosiers acquire new or specialized skills while new technologies such as automation and AI continue to transform the workforce.

Ivy Tech offers many courses and courses mentioned in the report, but Ellspermann did not say if the school would benefit from the conclusions.
