Northeast technological companies with hundreds of jobs available in the form of industry booms

Northeast technological companies are hiring while the sector continues to grow in the face of a shortage of essential skills.

The main employers, including Sage, Tombola, Atom Bank and Bede Gaming, currently announce a wide range of roles in the region, from the entry -level positions to specialized technical jobs.

The northeast technology sector is now estimated at more than 2 billion pounds Sterling and supports more than 35,000 jobs.

Atom Bank, Sage and Tombola are among the world names whose headquarters are in the region, while companies such as Just Eat and Accenture have also invested in the region.

However, the industry is faced with a shortage of essential skills, many employers find it difficult to fill vacancies.
A problem is that many people outside the sector do not know that their existing skills and experience could transfer to technological roles.
There is also a lack of awareness of entry -level opportunities and training programs that could help individuals start a career in technology.
Sage, based in Newcastle and employing more than 1,200 people at its head office in Cobalt, is currently recruiting for a range of roles.
The company offers software and services that support small and medium -sized businesses with accounting, finance, HR and pay.
The current vacancies include positions in administration, customer service, application development and technical specialism.

Tombola, which started like the Edward Thompson stationery store and now manages the largest online bingo site in the world, also hires.
Based in its Sunderland campus on Wylam Wharf, the company is recruiting roles such as Cloud safety engineers, prospects, information security analysts, a play studio and various developer positions.
