Support young people who have undergone trauma
Whether you work with children and young people, or you are an attentive parent or neighbor, you can play an essential role by helping children and young people to prosper. After receiving your certification as an instructor of mental health care for young people, we register – free of charge – in young strong resilients: support children and young people who undergo trauma. This free training will help you explain what trauma is and how it is in children and young people; Recognize when and how the unfavorable experiences of childhood (ACE) and other potentially traumatic events affect the capacities of children and young people to learn and engage; Find out how trauma manifest in communities and why colored communities are disproportionately affected; And practice an effective approach to establish stronger relationships with children and young people, helping them to strengthen resilience and positive adaptation strategies.
Although this course is approved by the National Council for mental well-being, young strong resilients: supporting children and young people who undergo trauma training do not contribute to the requirements of mental first health care certification or certification of the instructor.
