The United States is the number one market for French bubbles, while Italians are among the best champagne lovers in the world. Italy is the fifth world market for French emblematic wine, with 8.4 million bottles sold and more than 235 million euros in turnover in 2025 (Out of a total of more than 271 million bottles and 5.8 billion euros). SO, “Champagne e-learning“Was launched in Italy. The new free online training course on champagne promoted by the Champagne committee – the interprofessional organization based in Epernay which brings together all the winegrowers and all the champagne houses – is now also available in Italian.
The course was mainly designed for professionals. It improves the “Champagne Education” platform proposal – The first full training program, created by the Champagne Committee, which offers direct training in person each year to more than 6,000 professionals, in 16 different countries. In addition to “e-learning”, the portal also has a large section of educational resources that can be downloaded for free, as well as a quiz and game area designed to test your knowledge. “Champagne education” is the starting point for class training, available in two lessons. The first is the course of “Champagne specialist”, at the end of which you will obtain the official certification of Champagne Committee, delivered via a global network of selected partner centers. The second is personalized training to meet the specific needs of distributors, wine stores, hotel groups, restaurateurs and teachers from the hotel school. You can contact the office directly in Italy to access the training programs organized throughout the country.
The three different levels of learning of “online champagne” are designed to respond to the skills of all participants and are “explorers”, “experts” and “connoisseur”. It is a journey of knowledge that will lead students to discover and explore all the secrets of Champagne, its history, the terroir, the treatment method and the tasting technique. At the end of each level, you will take a test to assess your progress and receive certification (the first two levels are now available, while the third level will be accessible from September). The course is entirely interactive and consists of content ranging from videos to games, infographics, quizs and, and moreover, can be completed in five hours. It is accessible at any time from computers, smartphones and tablets, and is also available in French, English, German, Japanese and Spanish. The platform is dedicated to anyone working in the wine sector – sommeliers, oenologists, wine merchants, buyers, journalists, agents, tourism professionals, trainers, students – as well as enthusiasts around the world.
“Champagne in e-learning offers a total view of the world of Champagne thanks to a dynamic and pleasant educational approach”, StĂ©phanie Martel, head of the training department of the Champagne Committee, explained: “The purpose of the committee is to strengthen the skills of professionals who play a key role in the valuation and sale of Champagne as well as to promote the excellence of this emblematic name in France and in the world.
