“It is never too late for an MBA”: how a skills development program overeating careers | Technological consultation impacts

For Korusha Pillay, a senior IA and automation manager of EY, the opportunity to deepen his knowledge in fields such as leadership and commercial skills has been invaluable to stimulate his career and expand his prospects. A few weeks after having moved to the United Kingdom to play a role in Ey in 2020, Pillay's life was turned upside down while she found herself in locking. “I am incredibly oriented towards objectives,” she says. “Without something to aim, I struck a crisis.” So when she saw an announcement on an EY internal newsletter on the newly launched technological MBA, she jumped at the opportunity. On the same day, she wrote a detailed plan to fill in the input requirements and never looked back.

To qualify for the course, Pillay has completed the EY Digital Badge program, which offers training in large aspects of technology, leadership and business. The learning and development program is available for all people around the world, with training covering a wide range of subjects.

A bronze badge is generally allocated after 15 hours of studies, a silver badge after 30 hours, and a more intensive study leads to gold and ultimately platinum badges. Pillay completed 21 badges in subjects such as AI, automatic learning, leadership and digital transformation. This gave her accreditation to join the MBA, where she focused on business, leadership and technology.

The course resulted in a number of written research documents and a final project undertaken with other EY people on the course. His team addressed employee turnover to EY, developing a prototype application inspired by meeting platforms to match colleagues with internal opportunities, a project that received a 100% bar in the final evaluation.

The MBA was a transformative experience for Pillay. This gave him a direction of life during locking, but it also helped her to develop contacts through organization and learn a range of useful interpersonal techniques. She discovered that she could apply the lessons she had learned to her daily work. Above all, she said, it taught him to be more aware of the limits of his knowledge.

“Sometimes you are in this bubble and think that you know everything, but a course like this one that extends over so many limits made me realize how much more to learn.” MBA has helped her develop his knowledge in fields such as customer management, conflict resolution and leadership skills.

As one of the first to take the course, she was invited to numerous presentations, panels and learning events to EY to discuss her experiences. Career opportunities have increased exponentially, she said: “Since I put MBA at the end of my name”.

She says that MBA is so attractive that it is free, online and involves studying at your own pace. The course is open to people at different stages of their career, “it is never too late,” she adds.

Managed in association with Hult International Business School, the MBA EY Tech is available for some 400,000 EY employees in 150 countries, regardless of their role or their position.

For Peter Capsalis, a main DATA Director and Data data at EY, a more in -depth understanding of how customers see technological projects have been a major advantage in taking the technological MBA. Its MBA has covered three areas: transformation in the digital age; digital leadership; and competitive commercial simulations. The last “has really supervised some of the new technological progress and what it means for an organization,” he said.

He has acquired practical leadership skills, which has improved the way in which he manages his own world teams, which operate in different time zones, and his ability to carry out ideation sessions practically. And the technological MBA helped him apply this learning when he advises customers on how to manage their world teams.
