I started using Twitter at the end of 2007, at the request of several friends, who estimated that as a blogger, it would be a good way to extend my scope. And it did. From 2012 to 2021 Twitter (tweetbot) was one of my Three main tools for learning. He fell in fourth place after Musk bought the company, then he completely filed my list.
Over the years, I noted that the micro-blogging platform allowed me to stay in loose contact with a lot of people. I wrote that next to my blog, Twitter was my best learning tool and allowed me to stay connected to a diverse network (Seek & Party). For several years, Twitter was the greatest source of visitors to this blog. He even overshadowed Google research.
From 2022, it became obvious that Twitter would no longer be the place where movements like Arab Spring or Black Lives could increase. The decision to become a factory inducing favorable fascist rage was quite obvious in 2022 and it is blindly obvious now.
In 2022, I had around 20,000 subscribers and being connected to a diversified network was a powerful incentive for me to stay on X. Now I have much better conversations and very few trolls on Mastodon – Alliances platforms . I don't miss the Constant doubt and indignation To twitter either, even if I thought I could get around this by organizing carefully who I followed. It is impossible now and even the blocking does not work on X because those you block can now read your flow, thanks to the new property.
My Friday finds Mainly came from mastodon in the past two years and now nothing will come from X. And this is not a bad thing.
Farewell little bird. You were once a very important place for learning, creating meaning and understanding others.
