(Black Pr Wire) Clark Atlanta University announced today a collaboration with IBM Skillsbuild to help cultivate talents among future developers and stimulate economic growth. Continuous training to be vital. The latest report for the future of the World Economic Forum shows that the gap of skills remains the most important obstacle to business transformation and that in 2030, 39% of current skills could become exceeded. In addition, recent research from IBM and Morning Consult reveals that 76% of developers do not consider themselves as generative IA experts. This shows how generative AI growth has aggravated the gap of skills existing between roles.
In response to this, Clark Atlanta University works with IBM as part of a new strategy to help university students and budding developers to strengthen the skills of AI who will help them to prosper.
“While we are embarking on this transformer partnership with IBM, we recognize the crucial importance of closing the digital division and promoting an inclusive technological landscape,” explains Dr. Charlene D. Gilbert, provost and main vice-president of academic affairs of the Clark Atlanta University. “By equipping our students with the essential skills of AI, we prepare them not only to future opportunities, but we also ensure that the development of artificial intelligence reflects the wide range of perspectives of the communities it serves. It is imperative that the architects of AI systems represent the very populations and impact, thus promoting the economic viability and the sustainable growth of the digital era. ”
“The rhythm of AI innovation continues to challenge and inspire companies in all industries, making qualified talents more important than ever,” said Justina Nixon-Saintil, VP IBM and head of impact. “As we see the rise of more open-source IA models, it is clear that the pace of transformation does not slow down. The future of AI will be shaped by students, educators and professionals who not only have the necessary skills to use generator AI, but also to manage AI agents, or even build them. “
The key elements of the collaboration of Clark Atlanta University with IBM Skillsbuild are the training of teachers and practical learning opportunities for the real world thanks to access to Watsonx (IBM portfolio of AI generator products) and granite (IBM family of large outdoor linguistic models).
Functional training: IBM will offer teachers and resources for training and resources at the University of the University of Clark Atlanta who can help them cultivate the capacities of their students. These advice and additional support from IBM experts, as well as new generative AI lessons, and access to Watsonx and Granite, will offer teachers more options to integrate advanced AI learning into their study program.
Real world technological experiences for students:
- Labs Practical: IBM offers students a deeper dive in learning AI with interactive components through laboratories that last up to 90 minutes. These will help students dive deeper into subjects such as code generation and data classification using LLMS, such as IBM granite. Students will also have the opportunity to win digital diplomas recognized by future employers.
- Group innovation challenges: IBM will offer innovation challenges, such as hackathons, which are short -term experiences that give group developers the possibility of using granite.
- Capstone generative projects: students will have access to Watsonx to build real world solutions. These students will have the opportunity to work with IBM experts and their class teachers to build innovative cornerstone projects during a semester. IBM Mentors will provide students with problems with problems, including some of IBM customers, who could run different industries such as financial services, health care, insurance, life sciences, manufacturing, telecommunications, marketing or energy.
Free generative courses for beginners: New courses will also help students through the disciplines to build an AI understanding basis. The courses of IBM Skillsbuild are approximately an hour each and include subjects such as the exploration of the text in speech; Build a chatbot; and an introduction to open-source LLMS.
