The Alba -TCP tourism ministers have now agreed to 16 work routes to consolidate industry in Latin America and the Caribbean, emphasizing the marketing of the product as a multi -o -hosting.
According to the last minutes of the 7th meeting of ministers and high-level authorities of tourism from the Bolivarian Alliance for the peoples of the Commercial Treaty of our United States (Alba-TCP), other key subjects were: connectivity, regional tourism, legal regulations and training of qualified personnel in tourism.
Given the importance of certain subjects, added the declaration, it was decided that Cuba will work to establish cruise tourism among the countries of Alba; Venezuela and a Cuban team will work on the creation of the Alba forum for education, training, research and tourism innovation.
In addition, Cuba will work on how to integrate a destination proposal modality into the Alliance website, depending on the multiple choice questions of the potential customer, according to their preferences and their needs. Among the key subjects discussed in the technical round tables in the field of tourism are the consolidation between Cuba and Venezuela – through two of their tourist agencies – the negotiation of a multi -question product with the Chinese market; and acceptance by the participants of the marketing stages of this modality.
Two tour operators made proposals: one to use its agency to market multi-question products and integrate other methods such as honeymoon, mice and archeology; And the other to market a cruise in the region on appropriate platforms to perform its positioning.
It was also decided to promote multimodal transport for the benefit of the tourism sector in Alba countries, with alternatives that break the seat of unilateral coercive measures and the blockade suffered by certain member countries. Similarly, for the next Venezuelan International Tourism Show (Fitven), products must be presented which allow the inclusion of other countries in the region to complete the offers of other multi-question countries.
Nicaragua will share information on the experience of Central America in certifications; Cuba offered academic plans for the training and development of tourism professionals and awarded two places by country from September. Meanwhile, Venezuela has offered two additional scholarships per country for one-year technical programs from August and made its technological platform available to Alba countries.
Classes will start in August this year. Antigua and Barbuda will work on the development of common criteria for the quality certification process for tourism and associated services and products, given its experience in the field. With regard to airlines, the declaration specifies that they have discussed new connectivity opportunities, as well as the creation of incentives to reduce the costs of plane tickets, in order to make tourist packages more competitive.
Significant and decisive progress has been made to the realization of the first international tourism fair in Alba-TCP, scheduled for 2026. The meeting was chaired by the Cuban Minister of Tourism, Juan Carlos García, Deputy Minister of Cuban Foreign Affairs Josefina Vidal and Edith Peraza, general director of the Alba-TCP.
The meeting took place over two days in the context of the International Havana Fair, which successfully concluded, according to the Cuban Minister of Tourism Juan Carlos García.
