United Kingdom – The British government has officially launched its IA skills program with interviews with large technological companies.

The program aims to train 7.5 million people in the essential skills of the AI, which is equivalent to about a fifth of the British workforce.

Companies like Amazon, Barclays, BT, Google, IBM, Intuit, Microsoft, Salesforce and Sage are among those who have been called to discussions on how industry and government can work together on the IA skills program.

The talks have focused on areas such as identifying future skills and training training and more accessible training, the group working to accept the reference conditions and a regular meeting calendar helping to follow its progress.

The secretary of science, innovation and technology, Peter Kyle, said: “We must make sure that people of all ages and all regions of the United Kingdom have the skills they need for jobs both in and with technology – in particular since we expect around 10 million workers to use AI in their daily role by 2035.

“In the days which announced that we associate ourselves with some of the greatest technological leaders in the world to help us do exactly that, we do them on the table – representing a vote of trust not only among British workers, but in the potential that we offer as the world power of AI.”
