Are you looking to direct your community to better health? Are you looking to increase your public health skills and build a CV that demonstrates your community leadership? Become a public health ambassador to the Los Angeles County Ministry of Public Health (Lacdph)! Public health ambassadors support their communities in the County of Los Angeles by sharing information and resources in public health with family, friends, schools and social networks. Ambassadors are encouraged to share information and resources in a unique way to their individual style, their community needs and their interests. Subjects include COVVI-19 safety, prevention of substances / abuse consumption, mental health, reproductive health, vaccinations, etc. How are you going to have an impact?

How many training courses do I need to become public health ambassador?

As little as training and you will always be welcomed in future training.

Do I receive something to be a public health ambassador?

All participants in the program receive a certificate of participation (equivalent to one hour of community service or volunteer) for each training in which they participate. The public health ambassadors who tell our team how the information and skills acquired in the program helped them create an impact in their community are also eligible to be presented as the impact! How often do training take place?

Training is provided each month. Depending on the subject, two training sets may be available to better meet the needs of audiences such as students. We want to make sure you get the best party in the program and perform training as a two -part series: knowledge strengthening training and skills strengthening training. In the first part, you will learn how the subject has an impact on your community, which you can get information to support your health and that of your community, and you will discover local resources. In the second part, you will get public health skills, learn to use DPH resources and opportunities that will support your ability to create a significant impact in your community!

Parenting Ambassadors' Program (PALS)

Parents and tutors can help keep school communities in the County of Los Angeles by prospering thanks to the program of the leaders of ambassadors (PALS) of the Public Health Department of the County of Los Angeles.

Pals is a program where parents …


  • LEARN on students' health and online academic success.


  • SHARE Resources with other parents and school staff at the local school of their child.


  • Be paid For the work they do in schools with a gift card of $ 500!

This program is offered to parents / tutors in English and Spanish.

** A maximum of 5 parents can be accepted by school site by semester **

We want to hear from you! How to become a public health ambassador (Pha) changed you? PHAs have the possibility of making significant impressions in their communities, with their new knowledge, skills and resources in public health.
