Reflect on “security and shelter”

It's late here and I just finished the first ‘Safety and shelter“ Journey, with a wonderful group that has traveled with me, through two sessions, exploring ”loss“,” Hope “,” resilience “and” breath “.

I think we did well: I was a little worried that the four parties do not hold together, or that I lost myself along the way, but overall, it was a fairly “coherent” journey, and we were not too lost.

This does not mean that it was easy: for a group of foreigners to meet, of different contexts, different countries, and to talk about what they have lost, security and what it means to lead in conflict. It required confidence and more than a little bravery.

It was an emotional journey: I am always aware that it is easy for me to ask people to share their vulnerable stories, but it is these people who carry the emotional weight. My obligation is to have this confidence safely.

We did not surface any verification: it was not a treasure hunt. It was rather a guided and reflective journey. And so we each found our “truths” and I think that shared them well.

Until now, I feel encouraged by this work: it is important, and I can't wait to offer it as largely as possible. My next step is to collect comments and decide on the shape of the next prototype: what will remain, go or evolve.

I found that I was weaving the Quiet leadership Work very closely to that, which makes sense because I position it as a “journey through the landscape of silent leadership”, but it made me ask me if I should be more explicit on this subject.

For the moment, however, I am happy to have bought this work in life and I can't wait to evolve it. The first time, I always find my tongue, I shape my ideas and I really try to leave enough space. For the first time, I directed them on ninety minutes, which has really given us much more breathing space, so I will ask how people found it.

“Safety and shelter” concerns our obligation, as social leaders, to hold certain spaces, to act at the service of our communities. And to make sure everyone can find their way to a safe space.
