An evolving C-Suite needs general skills to flourish

With so many changes in the technical composition of the C Suite C, managers may need exceptional personal and human skills to help assess the way they put solutions on the market, communicate their vision to internal and external stakeholders and lead their teams through strategic execution. With regard to their broader workforce, employers interviewed by the World Economic Forum describe the most busy skills by 2027 as a mixture of technical expertise (for example, analytical thinking and technical literacy) and human skills (for example, leadership, social influence and creative thinking).7

The good news: in all areas, C-Suite role publications frequently cite the need for leadership and initiative, communication and critical reflection and problem solving (Figure 5). In many cases, the frequency of root assignments for these human capacities also increases regularly. Although CFO roles have relatively lower percentages, there has been an increase in job assignments analyzed in the last six years linked to initiative and leadership (61% to 70%), communication (41% to 47%) and critical thinking and problem solving (35% to 42%).

While publications CRO pursues larger quantitative history, they also reveal the demand for critical thinking and problem solving (33% to 53% in six years). And encouraging, the Chro, which is traditionally anchored in the development of people, systematically shows some of the highest rates of skills and human capacities in their job offers.
