With all the troubles around, ideally, countries would like to be independent and self -sufficient. But it is now impossible in this globalized world. No country can produce everything it needs and maintain strong growth. Thus, for a country to be strategically important and to veil its strategic lever effect, it is important to be a crucial part of the global supply chain so that world powers cannot ignore you or take you for a journey, and for a country to be able to take advantage of this power to be impartial on the negotiation table.
For example, while Taiwan is a small country and you might think that it might not have a lot of lever, Taiwan has a lot of lever. Taiwan produces more than 60% of the world's semiconductors, and until some time ago, this number represented almost 75% of world semiconductors. But why do we discuss semiconductor chips, why are they important?
Almost everything you see, from washing machines to cars, including IA technology phones, including retail, everything needs semiconductor chips. Without semiconductor chips, the world would stop today. Almost 60% of advanced semiconductive chips in the world are produced in Taiwan, and it is a lever effect for Taiwan.
This is why it is important for all children, the brilliant spirits of the future, to find out about coding, computer science and semiconductors. It is inevitable that all experiences converge in the sale of something or the consumption of something involving semiconductor technology in one way or another.
India has delayed a lot in the manufacturing industry of semiconductors. And, he is now trying to play catching up. The semiconductor industry needs a long-term vision. It needs heavy investments initially, then the benefits will be harvested in the long term. For example, it takes four years after having set up a manufacturing plant so that the first production quality chip comes out of the factory, but even then, the defect rate will be very high in the first years. It is only once production stabilizes when the yield becomes better.
Another current problem in flea manufacturing is the process is subject to errors. Despite all the automation and advanced facilities, the manufacture of fleas is a very subject process for errors. Manufacturing involves different stages, including the manufacture of the brochure, assembly, packaging and final integrated circuits. The narrowed dimensions of the semiconductor components activated by modern extreme UV light sources make the manufacturing process of semiconductors very sensitive to errors occurring during the different photolithographic stages-Mask alignment, photo structuring and engraving.
However, India does not start from zero. India already has a particular force in the semiconductor industry, and it is design. About 20% of the global workforce that designs semiconductor chips is based in India working for various multinational flea companies. India does not have a semiconductor manufacturing installation on a commercial scale. The main company of India, Tata, has ventured with its Tata-PSMC partnership and launched a flea manufacturing plant of 28 Nm capable of producing 50,000 Wafers per month. Finally, India plans to move to the more advanced manufacturing of chips 14 nm and 12 nm.
The other parts of the semiconductor supply chain that India examines is the assembly and packaging of fleas. The assembly and packaging of fleas is a process with a high intensity of labor and India is well suited to take advantage of this process by offering a cheap workforce, which stimulates the value of the supply chain. India recently announced four new factories for assembly and packaging.
As a leading institute of the STEM study program, we provide simple to understand Flea manufacture So that children develop an understanding of semiconductors and different levels of Semiconductor scales. In order to arouse interest around silicon fleas and microcontrollers, we provide courses on various microcontrollers such as Arduino, jetson, microbit, and more.
I hope you found it useful, thank you.
