The three -day event opens on Monday and takes place until September 27, aimed at promoting businesses and entrepreneurship, arts and music and communities in the Kivalliq region.

“It is pleasant to take the time to recognize the immense contribution that women provide not only in business, but in industry, community governance and political leadership in this region,” said president of Robert Connelly in an interview.

He said he expects this year's event to be particularly occupied because the registration was at a record level.

“And they would be even higher if we had more accommodation capacity in the community,” he said.

Last Wednesday, more than 220 delegates were recorded, plus 50 exhibitors, including 15 to 20 artists, artists and entrepreneurs, said Connelly.

Before the trade show, Saturday and Sunday were devoted to the KIVALLIQ entrepreneurial program, which focuses on the development of commercial skills and will continue throughout the week even if other business fair events take place.

There is a commercial program on September 25, as well as a meeting reception.

The last two days are the most excited, with the opening of the event to the delegates and the public, of the panel sessions, an opening speech and community entertainment.

This year's show will include a wide range of organizations and individuals, said Connelly. The delegates range from entrepreneurs, sole proprietorships and artists to members of various levels of government.

According to the theme of women in business, the three panels will be moderate by women and will focus on matters related to business women.

The planned subjects are: the current leaders of women in business in Kivalliq, the women emerging in business and women in the arts.

“I think there is a wide diversity of presenters, panelists, speakers and special guests who will make it a very good event,” said Connelly.

The main lecturer will be Nikki Komaksiutiksak. She is the executive director of non -profit tunngasugit based in Winnipeg, which offers programming and Inuit services in Winnipeg.

This year, KomaksiTiksak was Named one of the women of the year in Pauktutit.

Outside the show, the Kivalliq entrepreneurship program returns for another year.

After the initial launch for young people in 2010, the show recognized that it was necessary to have a program for everyone in the region focused on the starting or growth of a business, said Connelly.

The program includes means to develop a business plan, marketing information and an overview of aspects such as licenses and taxation. There will be 14 participants this year in six communities and the program started on Saturday.

The theme of women in business of the trade show is also represented in the organizing committee of the program, because Connelly said it that most members are women.

“This particular year, this is a celebration of their contribution,” he said.
