“Augment is a new type of MBA designed specifically for entrepreneurs and people who work, and where you can learn directly from some of the largest entrepreneurs, founders and operators on the planet,” said the co -founder and chief executive officer of Australia, Ariel Renous, said Gulf Time. “We are talking about the founders of companies like YouTube, Amazon, Wikipedia, Waze and many others.”
He noted that August is not an accredited MBA program but an MBA alternative.
“It is for people who do not need the piece of paper but who want to acquire skills,” he said. “Participants learn really practical commercial advice covering the entire range of MBA subjects.”
“Subjects include sales, entrepreneurship, marketing, innovation, leadership, strategy, accounting, finance, among others,” added Renous.
“You learn them on the basis of real examples of real companies and real people who have done so,” he said. “We teach commercial skills. Basically, we reproduce the MBA program, but we make it super short, super fast and you can do it at your own pace and your convenience. ”
“We build MBA for 99% of the population who does not want to spend two years, spending a large sum of money but who still needs commercial skills,” said Renous.
“The increase costs less than 1% of a traditional MBA and is entirely online and at your own pace,” he said. “The costs for the entire course are around $ 2,450 and provides access to life to the content of the course and all the different modules as well as access to the community, because the community is also super important.”
“We are not replacing business schools,” added Renous. “We bring business schools to many more people.”
Founded in 2022, Augment already has 2,000 students and former students worldwide, including technology leaders, founders and career changers.
“The majority of our students are from the United States,” said Renous. “About 15% of them are from the Middle East, and around 4% of the total student population comes from Qatar.”
Beyond the courses, Augment offers a network of former students with mentorship, networking and meetings in person.
The increases have instructors like Jimmy Wales from Wikipedia, Steve Chen from YouTube, Ann Hiatt from Google and Amazon and Uri Levine de Waze.
“Our hypothesis is that we build a commercial education for people who work,” said Renous.
“If they don't have time, they can finish the program 20 to 30 minutes a day, a module, a lesson at a time,” he said. “It is completely autonomous, it is entirely online and you learn real companies.”
“Those who wish to finish it can do it in 5 to 6 months,” added Renous.
