What makes training really effective? Is it a question of teaching the “click here” steps, or does he concern learners to make real decisions with confidence? It was one of the basic ideas of my interview on the Digital Podcast Adoption Show by Whatfix. In this interview, I focused specifically on software training, approaching when the software training based on a scenario is the right approach and when you need to use other training methods. Honestly, most time scenarios are exaggerated for software training, but they are useful in certain specific situations.

We covered a lot of land in 30 minutes.

  • Why learning based on the scenario changes the situation for the creation of judgment, context and decision -making skills.
  • How simulations and scenarios work together to create engaging training and results.
  • The art of the development of connection scenarios – and when a simple decision point is more effective than complexity.
  • Metrics of success of key training, the reduction of calls for supporting emotional and cognitive engagement.
  • Can the role of AI in the reshaping of learning – can it personalize scenarios in real time?

In this conversation, I spoke of using the 5 moments of need Framework to guide your decisions for software training approaches. I also referred to the Thalheimer's book Learning surveys focused on as a source of better survey questions (including an example on motivation to apply training).
