“Reflecting an international consensus on what constitutes a high level of security, the IEA security standards are the cornerstone of the AIAA mission in the field of nuclear and radiotherapy to protect people and the environment against the harmful effects of ionizing influence,” said Lydie Evrard, deputy director of the IAEA and head of the Ministry of Nuclear Security and Security. “This online learning series presents the ENAA's commitment to promote a broader understanding of the application of safety standards.”

Designed for operators, regulators and other users of IEA security standards, this online learning series includes modules on all safety requirements, offering users the flexibility to focus on a specific subject or to complete the entire series of 13 modules for a complete understanding of safety standards.

The e-learning series explains interconnections among IAEA Safety standardswhich cover all the nuclear and radiation applications used for peaceful purposes. “The challenge for us is to ensure that countries can fully take advantage of these safety standards to protect people and the environment against the harmful effects of ionizing radiation,” said Dominique Delattre, who managed the initiative at the head of the SAFT SAFETY and Safety Standards section. “This online learning series serves as a bridge, helping users understand the value of these safety standards and how to apply them effectively.”

The introductory module, which is available in the six official languages of the IAEA, gives an overview of security standards, explaining how they are structured and developed, their main objectives and how the fundamental security principles, security requirements and safety guides are integrated together to form a robust framework for nuclear security.
