“Flexibility of the format was excellent. There was no time defined that I had to do school work, other than optional zoom meetings in which we, as a student, agreed to participate. Overall, it was an excellent program I loved. »»
Clare, a plea coordinator and blind and visually training (BVI) at Envision at Mountain Home, Idaho, was diagnosed with a functional neurological disorder and began to undergo a vision loss later in life.
While obtaining a diploma in online commerce, she went to Washington DC several times a year for plea work focused on the demonstration of senators and representatives to what extent blind and visually impaired can work, and how much they want to work, because almost 70% are unemployed.
“I chose the online business management program so that I can open my own business,” said the graduate of August 2025. “And I chose to make the entrepreneurship track, which helps us to learn how we can be good business owners.
“The most useful skills I have acquired as part of the BBA program are really in the entrepreneurship track because it showed me how I can integrate marketing into advertising, to offer a business plan.
“My main objective was to become a writer and publisher. I didn't really have reflection outside of that. Now, after graduating, I really wrote my business plan. I examined who my competitors are, both with cafes, local business stores and other publishers. And it's very interesting because now … I can go ahead and I can bring this business plan to a bank. I feel very prepared for that. It gave me everything I needed and more.
Gallardo Carrillo is a full -time student who gave birth to a son while obtaining a diploma in online commerce. Coordinator of students' success for the College of Southern Idaho, she is on the right track to graduate in May 2025.
Like Clare, Gallardo Carrillo hopes to apply what she learned while obtaining a diploma in online commerce to open her own business.
“I knew I wanted to do something, but I didn't know what,” she said. “I continued to see people who would lose their jobs, or their business would close. They were 55 or 65 and did not know what to do with their lives. They had to start again.
“I realized that I could become my own boss, have my own business and not have to count on a business like that. This program is preparing me well to start my own business. The last semester, I took the right of employment and I learned a lot. I discovered things that some of my previous chiefs did not know, such as responsibility. It was great to learn.
Gallardo Carrillo already finds a solid return on investment by obtaining a diploma in online commerce.
“I believe that this diploma will help me achieve my goals,” she said. “I learned so much and I feel better prepared to take up the challenge of becoming a business owner.
“The great thing about the program is that most of my teachers and my advisor first see me a person. They really care and want me to reach this goal in my life. »»
