High schools in the US: An overview

1. High school covers ninth through twelfth grades. There are different types of high schools in the US.

2. Traditional Public Schools: Traditional public schools comply with a standardized curriculum and accept students from their local area. They do not require tuition and are operated by local, state, and federal government funds.

3. Private School: Private schools receive funding from sources, such as tuition, other than the government. They may have different educational philosophies and can be religious or secular

4. Public Magnet Schools: These schools have specialized courses or curricula and typically have an excellent reputation. They are designed to attract students of different racial, ethnic, and economic backgrounds.

5. Public Charter Schools: These are publicly funded high schools that are privately managed. They have more local authority, allowing them to choose their curriculum and set rules and regulations that work best for their student population.

Number of high schools in the US
