The US Chamber of Commerce and College Board forge a partnership aimed at ensuring that today's secondary students have the skills necessary to excel in their future career, creating a stronger workforce for tomorrow.

As the largest organization and commercial network in the world, the United States Chamber represents the collective voice of the business community, which can support secondary schools with precious advice on the professional skills necessary to succeed. Thanks to the Advanced Placement (AP) program, the College Board is working to provide more relevant courses and connected to a career in high school, with new lessons that will appeal to a wide range of students. Together, the US Chamber and College Board will work to create more career paths for US high school students through AP courses in two sought -after areas: starting with commercial / personal funding principles, followed by cybersecurity.

Presentation of personal principles AP / Personal finance

AP CK (Career Kickstart) Principles Trade / Personal Finances will allow students of essential skills in terms of commercial finances and personal finance thanks to project learning and case studies with real companies. The AP program has developed a global approach to personal business and finance education, based on synergy between the two disciplines to improve control of students of the two.

It is essential that all high school students have the opportunity to learn what will be presented in this course. In AP CK Business Principles / Personal Finance, students will be:

  • Acquire an in -depth understanding of the business field and its role in society

  • Find out how companies create value and make profits by meeting customers' needs

  • Learn personal financing concepts to improve trade knowledge and financial decision -making

These skills are fundamental to the success of students and the preparation of future workforce in our country. To reflect this, students who obtain a qualification score on the AP exam will earn a diploma meaning their realization of ready -to -use essential skills evaluated by employers. The partnership between the Chamber of the United States and the College Board will ensure that the course reflects the most recent labor needs in commercial and personal finance and reaches as many students as possible. We encourage employers to recognize this identification information based on evidence during hiring and urges states to ensure that students can meet the requirements for grabing personal finances via AP BP / PF.

The US Chamber and College Board is looking forward to continuing to join forces to build talent pipelines with specific careers and on demand and to extend access to rigorous careers after high school.
