Export certification
We offer export certification services to facilitate exports of seafood products that meet the unique requirements of each import country and any other specific criterion of the industry buyer.
We represent the United States in negotiations with other countries concerning its import requirements for the United States seafood products. These negotiations frequently include the development and modification of certificates to support American seafood exports. We are the competent power to issue and sign these certificates in the United States.
If the foreign borders inspection stations raise questions about a certificate issued by the NOAA seafood inspection program, the NOAA will testify to the legitimacy of the certificate and will make an effort to answer all the questions. The NOAA can act as an intermediary for communication between the export industry and the import authority to quickly solve the problems that arise when a product is detained from the entry.
Detents linked to export certificates can result from a simple translation of language, variable interpretations of regulations in the importing country or problems not linked to the safety of seafood.
Note: Export certificates must be requested and issued before shipping the product.
Export certification to the European Union
We certify American seafood products for export to the European Union.
Instructions and requirements are available for both export health certification and documentation of the INI captures required for export to EU member countries.
Note: if the products are first exported to a country not from the EU, but will then be exported to the EU, they must be accompanied by a IIU Capture document.

Approved foreign lists
Various foreign destinations for exports of American fishing products have registration requirements. Exporters must carefully examine their current registration status before organizing shipments. This section provides links to current approval lists for specific countries of destination.
Listed business partners have various registration requirements for the United States exporting sender and / or processors. These lists are maintained by the American Ministry of Commerce or Food and Drug Administration in partnership with the foreign government.
Go to the approved foreign list
Whenever there is a change of property or name of a listed company, all export approval lists must be updated with the new name and / or establishment number. It is the responsibility of the export company to ensure that their information is updated on the relevant lists (s) before requesting the export certification. Sometimes there may be an extended period of time between the name / property change and the update of the list. To reduce the risk that exports be held or rejected at the border due to details of inscriptions from the incorrect sender, the company must inform SIP before shipping, so that we can work together to find the best option given the specific circumstances. The unavailable of the SIP before shipping can have negative consequences for the sender, ranging from excess overestimation costs or the rejection of sending to the destruction of the product.
Training of exchanges
Noaa fishing plays an essential role in rationalizing seafood trade in the United States. By working in collaboration with customs and the protection of American borders, we provide support for seafood dealers to guarantee that imported seafood, such as Patagonian dental fish, blue tuna, swordfish and bigeye tuna, are legally captured and imported.
Foreign seafood trade data
We maintain an foreign trade database dating from 1975 which allows users to summarize the foreign trade of the United States (imports / exports) in fish products. You can summarize the weight and value in dollars per year, the product, the country and the type of trade.
