Remote education

All the courses of the University of Monteallo (UM) are improved by the web, which means that teachers use the learning management system (LMS), at least, to give access to course documents (for example, Syllabi) and contact students. Traditional classes or in person (TR) are taught exclusively in person, but can be designated as flexible (FX) if students have the possibility of participating in the course in person or practically.

Online

The university defines an online course as a course that never meets in person; All the content is delivered online via LMS teams (for example, canvas), e-mail, zoom or Microsoft. Online courses can be synchronous, asynchronous or a combination of the two. An online synchronous lesson (OS) forces students to connect to one scheduled time (for example, in order to participate in a live session). In an online asynchronous course (OA), students may be required to meet the deadlines for work -submissions, but they are not required to connect to a scheduled hour. Online hybrid lessons (OH) use a combination of synchronous and asynchronous instructions.

Hybrid

A hybrid course is a course which includes at least a traditional meeting (in person) but which meets less than 50% of the time in person. Traditional hybrid courses (Hy) use a combination of online instructions in person and asynchronous. Hybrid Remote (HR) uses a combination of online meetings in person and synchronous.
