Midjourney unveiled her long -awaited V7 image generation model – Its first major upgrade in more than a year. Now available in Public Alpha, V7 introduces significant improvements both in visual quality and user functionality, signaling a daring new phase for one of the most used AI image tools on the web.
V7 has completely rebuilt architecture, providing much sharper results with considerably improved details, texture realism and coherence of objects. One of the most notable improvements is the way it makes the parts of the body complex such as hands and fingers – long -standing challenges for IA images generators. Materials such as fabric, skin and ceramics also seem more realistic, offering creators better tools for artistic expression.
A remarkable characteristic of V7 is the Draft mode, which allows users to quickly on visual concepts. Draft mode makes the images 10 times faster and half the cost of standard work, which makes it ideal for creative brainstorming. Although images in rough mode are a lower quality, they can be easily improved in full resolution in one click.
Another major addition is the default customization. Starting with V7, users are invited to assess around 200 images to create a personalized aesthetic profile. This allows the model to better understand individual preferences and generate visuals aligned with the style of each user. Personalization can be activated or deactivated at any time.
The CEO of Midjourney, David Holz, describes V7 as “a completely different architecture” with a more intelligent text interpretation and considerably improved visual coherence.
The model launches in two modes:
- Turbo: Offer quick and high quality results to double the cost.
- Relax: Made more slow but more profitable for projects less sensitive to time.
Certain features – such as rise in power, retemation and publishing – currently fall back to the V6, but updates are expected soon. The company has also teased to come a major functionality: a character and object reference tool for V7, likely to arrive in the next two months.
Midjourney, formerly available via Discord, now has a modern web application interface, which makes it more accessible to new users. Despite the current legal debates on AI training on the content protected by copyright, the platform remains a central tool for digital art, concept design and even IA video creation workflows.
