Branson High School Job Olympics: Competition displaying professional skills

For seven years, Branson High School has organized an annual competition which gave students with development troubles the opportunity to participate in a competition and to make themselves known to potential employers.

Tracy Hall is a transition coordinate for Branson High School and during a recent visit to the Krzk “Ozarks Now” program, said that she had the idea of ​​the event to help students with developmental disorders after hearing a presentation by an educator who had made a similar event. Hall said the event started for Branson High School only, but then spread to include Hollister, and now offers nearly 20 schools in the southwest Missouri. The other schools in the lakes region participating in Branson and Hollister are Forsyth, Galena, Hurley, Reeds Spring and Spokane.

The competition will set out the students participating in job competitions to give potential employers a chance to see what skills the students have developed and added to the region's work population.

The event will take place on March 27 at the Branson High School.
