AI transforms education worldwide, provoking daring reimagination of the way we learn, teach and preserve human connection at the heart of each class.
At WSIS + 20 high -level events In Geneva, the session ‘IA (and) Education: Convergences between Chinese and European teaching practices“Has brought together educators, students and industry experts to examine how AI reshapes global education.
Conduit by Jovan Kurbalija of Diplo And Professor Hao Liu of Beijing Institute of Technology (ILO)with information from the Deloitte industry Norman SzeThe discussion focused on the future of universities and the evolution of the role of teachers in the midst of rapid AI developments.
Based on the philosophical traditions of Confucius to Plato, the session underlined the need for a hybrid approach which preserves the human essence of learning while embracing technological transformation.
Professor Liu presented the model of intelligent Bit education, a man centered on man integrating time, space, knowledge, teachers and students. Going beyond rigid teaching and focused on exams, Bit promotes creativity and interdisciplinary learning, allowing students with flexible academic paths and digital tools.

Meanwhile, Norman Sze underlined how IA Accelerated the workflows of the industry and called for an educational alignment with real world demands. He pleaded to redirect learning around critical thinking, ethical literacy and collaboration – children that AI cannot reproduce and remain at the heart of personal and professional growth.
A key theme was whether teachers and universities remain relevant in the AI future. Students around the world have contributed convincing reflections: AI can offer efficiency, but it cannot replace emotional intelligence, mentoring and the creation of meaning that only human educators provide.
As a student said: “I don't care a chatgpt – it's not human”. The group has reached a consensus: teachers must pass “wise on stage” to “guides on the side”, student coaching by complexity rather than simply transmit knowledge.
The session has closed on an optimistic note, claiming that if AI is a powerful catalyst for change, the heart of education lies in human connection, dialogue and the ability to ask the right questions. Participants have agreed that an educational model really turned to the future will not emerge from the choice between the East and the West or the Man and the Machine, but from the integration of the best of all to build a more inclusive and insightful future of learning.
