Today's colleges graduates have not only entered the labor market – they enter a world where AI has transformed all industries and the sector. They need literacy of AI and creative skills to navigate and succeed in the future powered by AI. Everywhere, university systems build new programs to equip their students for this future, and California State University (CSU) opens the way for a new revolutionary initiative to allow students the skills most requested by employers.
CSU, the country's largest public academic system in the country, recently announced the creation of a IA enrollment acceleration adviceA first public-private partnership of its kind. Adobe joined the Acceleration Council of the AI WorkForce as a founding member, based on our long -standing partnership with CSU to ensure that graduates of all disciplines – business, health care, engineering, education or arts – come into collaboration and career.
Fill the skills gap for the next generation of workers
An economy of rapidly growing creators and revolutionary AI technologies have increased the demand for literacy and creative skills of AI in all industries. In California alone, the creators' economy employs more than 800,000 people – almost 5% of the state workforce – and supports 875,000 local service jobs, according to Otis college.
However, there is a skills gap. According to a recent Graduate employability reportAlmost two out of three employers (62%) think that candidates should have fundamental knowledge of Genai tools, but 55% of graduates said their campuses had not prepared them to use Genai tools.
How Adobe helps CSU students to acquire a competitive advantage
The new CSU initiative will allow students of all majors to learn how to use AI and develop their digital creative skills. The program is based on Adobe's long -standing partnership with the CSU system. More than 300 CSU ambassadors organized workshops, participated in events and exercised professional development activities with Adobe to strengthen their career preparation.
Five universities of the CSU – Fullerton, the state of San Jose, the state of Fresno, the state of San Diego and Stanislaus – have also become Adobe creative campus. In a creative campus of Adobe, all students, teachers and staff have access to Adobe Creative Cloud Apps, including Adobe Express. This access to creative tools with innovative AI capabilities encourages students in all areas to strengthen their digital literacy, adopt their creativity and take care of their learning.
Thanks to this new initiative, Adobe will help teachers and CSU students:
- Acquire practical experience with advanced AI tools. Students can use Adobe Express, including his integrated intersecting tools, to create presentations, create curriculum vitae or refine portfolios. With Acrobat Ai Assistant, they can increase their productivity in their research. And with the models of Firefly Generative IA, students are better able to give life to their creative visions, regardless of the creative training they have.
- Develop necessary creative and digital skills in all career areas. Adobe tools are used in all industries. Winning familiarity and expertise with these fundamental digital tools will help distinguish students in applications.
- Prepare for the careers of tomorrow with the literacy of AI. In a world where AI reshapes everything, from narration to cybersecurity, students will learn to exploit AI as a creative and analytical tool and will be better equipped to stand out and succeed in an economy led by AI.
A model for the future of higher education focused on AI
By integrating the skills in AI and creative digital literacy in all areas of study, CSU ensures that its graduates will direct, innovate and create at a time of AI transformation. With more than 460,000 students and 63,000 teachers out of the 23 CSU campuses, this initiative will have a significant level of scale and impact and can serve as a model for other national educational establishments.
As the CSU Chancellor noted, Mildred García, the creation of this initiative “will raise the educational experience of our students in all areas of study, empower the teaching and search for our faculty and will help provide the very educated workforce that will motivate the future economy of California.”
Adobe is delighted to help shape the future of learning powered by AI to the CSU and we invite other universities, leaders of industry and educators to join us to ensure that students everywhere are ready for tomorrow's workforce.
