In this new course, Ronnie Williford breaks down his approach to the basics of drawing. This course is aimed at new and/or younger artists that are looking to learn the basics and get a good understanding of art fundamentals.
This course may be streamed online or download. We recommend you stream the files as the full course is several gigs worth of video.
About Ronnie Williford:
Ronnie Williford has nearly 50 years experience working as a professional artist, painter and animator. He works in virtually all mediums including oil, watercolor, acrylics, digital painting & more. He is even an accomplished sculptor and musician. Ronnie's paintings and drawings have been exhibited in galleries all over the world. He has also worked in the animation industry for many years including for Walt Disney Feature Animation where he animated on such films as "Atlantis", "Brother Bear", "Lilo and Stitch", "Mulan" & more. I finished this course about a week ago, and it was perfect for where I was at. I have always liked to draw and paint, but have had no systematic formal training, and no classes at all since high school—which was a while ago. If I compare my sketches now to my sketches from a month or two ago, I can see the difference this course has made: better, more confident lines; better proportions; more of a sense of form in all my drawings. If you have never had a basic drawing class, I recommend this one highly, and I suggest that you draw along with the lessons as much as possible. The most impactful lessons for me were the early ones on shape and form, but I liked the perspective day as well, and I appreciated Ronnie’s head construction method. It’s also a pleasure to watch a good artist draw: I found I learned a lot simply from watching the way Ronnie handled his pencil and put down lines on the paper.
